KESENJANGAN DIGITAL ; DAMPAK AKSES DAN LITERASI TEKNOLOGI TERHADAP PARTISIPASI EKONOMI PEMUDA DESA DAN KOTA DI KABUPATEN JEMBER

Abstrak

Globalization is a worldwide phenomenon that has significant impacts on various aspects of human life. One of the tangible effects of globalization is digital development, which has now become an inseparable part of daily life, especially in the economic sector. Young people, whether in rural or urban areas, are the main actors in utilizing digital technology in economic activities. However, this digital development also brings about disparities in economic participation among the youth, particularly in Jember Regency. The difference in access and utilization of technology between rural and urban youth results in disparities in their lifestyles and economic potentials. This research aims to elucidate the phenomenon of digital divide in youth economic participation using the perspective of modernization theory by George Ritzer. This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document studies. The research results are expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the impact of digital globalization on the economic participation gap among the youth of Jember
