KOMUNIKASI DIGITAL ANTARA ORANG TUA DAN ANAK DALAM MENJAGA ETIKA BERMEDIA SOSIAL (STUDI DI DESA TAMBON TUNONG KECAMATAN DEWANTARA KABUPATEN ACEH UTARA)

Abstrak

This study aims to describe the form of digital communication between parents and adolescents in maintaining ethical behavior on social media in Tambon Tunong Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency. In today's digital era, interactions between parents and children occur not only face-to-face but also through digital platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to explore in depth how digital communication occurs and the obstacles faced in instilling ethical values in the use of social media. The results show that digital communication between parents and children includes text messages, voice calls, and sharing educational content. Topics discussed include dress ethics, how to comment respectfully on social media, and warnings about harmful online content. The study found several barriers: psychological barriers such as differences in perception, technical barriers related to parents’ digital literacy, and semantic barriers caused by generational language gaps. Despite these challenges, digital communication remains an essential tool in fostering understanding and promoting ethical behavior among adolescents in the digital space.
