PENGARUH PERBEDAAN UKURAN MATA JARING (MESH SIZE) TERHADAP HASIL PENANGKAPAN PADA JARING INSANG DASAR (BOTTOM GILL NET) DI PERAIRAN LEKOK PASURUAN JAWA TIMUR

Lekok waters are one of the high potential fishing areas in East Java with the use of gill net type fishing gear which is a fishing gear that is still operating and in demand by fishermen in Lekok. The gill net is a fishing tool with a rectangular shape equipped with floats and weights. Basic gill nets with different mesh sizes can affect fish catches in Lekok. The purpose of the study was to determine which mesh size can produce the most fish when catching on a basic gill net in the waters of Lekok Pasuruan. The research method uses experimental fishing with Rando mized Group Design (RAK) calculations, using 3 different treatments (mesh size) measuring 1 inch, 2 inches, 3 inches, and repeating the study 9 times. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then after that using the BNT test. The results of this study showed that the highest number of catches using a mesh size of 1 inch with a catch of 736 kg, then the second highest catch was with a mesh size of 2 inches with a catch of 530 kg and the third highest catch was with a mesh size of 3 inches with a catch of 334 kg. The BNT test analysis shows that the effect of different mesh sizes can have a nyta effect on the productivity of fishing results.
