Abstrak

Android  is an electronic telecommunications device that has capabilities the same basis as a conventional fixed line telephone, but can be carried anywhere and no need to connect to the telephone network using a cable. In University Islamic North Sumatera in Distric Medan. Many student alredy have  smart phone.  Android by students cannot be separated from its positive and negative impacts. The formulation of this research problem is How The impact of using Android smart phones on the learning activities of Social scuence student. This research is qualitative research with using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis was carried out descriptively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and processing and drawing conclusions. Research result shows that the use of smart phones among social science in University Islamic North Sumatera can be categorized as active when compared to campus.
