Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan level kuning telur puyuh yang berbeda kedalam pengencer sari buah semangka (SBS) terhadap kualitas spermatozoa babi duroc. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan yaitu P1= SBS+10% KTP, P2= SBS+12,5% KTP, P3= SBS+15% KTP, P4= SBS+17.5% KTP, P5= SBS+ 20% KTP, setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Sperma yang berkualitas baik diencerkan dengan pengencer, kemudian dipreservasi dalam cool boks dengan suhu 18-200C. Evaluasi dilakukan setiap 12 jam penyimpanan terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan daya tahan hidup spermatozoa hingga motilitas 40%. Data dianalisis menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perlakuan P3 dengan level kuning telur 15% dan mamampu mempertahankan kualitas spermatozoa selama 60 jam dengan persentase motilitas 43.40±2.40%, viabilitas 51.13±1.61%, abnormalitas 5.28±0.73 dan daya tahan hidup 64.08±2.88 jam. Disimpulkan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian level kuning telur puyuh 15% dalam pengencer SBS mampu mempertahankan kualitas spermatozoa babi duroc selama 60 jam.Disimpulkan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian level kuning telur puyuh 15% dalam pengencer SBS mampu mempertahankan kualitas spermatozoa babi duroc selama 60 jam.

 

This study aims to determine the effect of adding different levels of quail egg yolk into watermelon juice (SBS) diluent on the quality of duroc pig spermatozoa. The study design used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments, namely T1 = WJ + 10% QEY, T2 = WJ + 12.5% QEY, T3 = WJ + 15% QEY, T4 = WJ + 17.5% QEY, T5 = WJ + 20% QEY, each treatment was repeated 5 times. Good quality sperm was diluted with a diluent, then preserved in a cool box at a temperature of 18-200C. Evaluation was carried out every 12 hours of storage for motility, viability, abnormalities, and survival of spermatozoa up to 40% motility. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with the Duncan test. The results of this study indicate that the P3 treatment with 15% egg yolk level and is able to maintain the quality of spermatozoa for 60 hours with a percentage of motility of 43.40 ± 2.40%, viability of 51.13 ± 1.61%, abnormality of 5.28 ± 0.73 and survival of 64.08 ± 2.88 hours. It is concluded from this study that the provision of 15% quail egg yolk level in WJ diluent is able to maintain the quality of duroc pig spermatozoa for 60 hours.
