PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN LEVEL BOVINE SERUM ALBUMIN DALAM PENGENCER TRIS-KUNING TELUR TERHADAP KUALITAS SPEMATOZOA BABI LANDRACE

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  menguji  pengaruh level bovine serum albumin (BSA) dalam pengencer tris-kuning telur (T-KT) terhadap kualitas semen cair babi landrace. Materi penelitian adalah semen segar yang berasal dari satu ekor babi landrace yang berumur 2 tahun. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan lima  ulangan yaitu: P0 =T-KT, P1=T-KT + BSA 0,1%, P2 =T-KT+ BSA 0,2%, P3=T-KT+BSA 0,3%, P4=T-KT+BSA 0,4%. Semen yang telah diencerkan  disimpan pada suhu 18-20ºC. Variabel penelitian meliputi: motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan daya tahan hidup (DTH) spermatozoa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan P2 menghasilkan kualitas spermatozoa yang lebih tinggi dari pada keempat perlakuan lainnya (P<0,05), dengan motilitas 52,00±2,73%, viabilitas 57,40±2,07%, abnormalitas 9,60±0,54% dan DTH spermatozoa 54,54 jam. Disimpulkan bahwa dengan penambahan level BSA 0,2% dan 0,3 % dalam pengencer tris-kuning telur dapat memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap kualitas spermatozoa babi landrace.

The aim of this study is to find out the influence of the level of bovine serum albumin in the tris-egg yolk diluent on the quality of the liquid semen of the landrace boar. The research material was fresh semen from a 2 years old landrace boar in healthy condition. The method was completely randomized design in which there were 5 treatments and 5 replicates, : T0=T-EY, T1=T-EY + BSA 0,1%,T2 =T-EY +BSA 0,2%,T3=T-EY +BSA 0,3%,T4 =T-EY+BSA 0,4%. This diluted semen will be stored at a temperature of 18-200C. Study variables include: motility, viability, abnormality, and survival of spermatozoa. The result showed that T2 produces higher quality of landrace pig sperms than the other four treatment (P<0,05), with motility 52.00±2.73%, viability 57.40±2.07%, abnormality 9,60±0,54%, and survival 54,54 hours. It could be concluded that the addition of  BSA levels of  0.2%  and 0,3% in the tris-egg yolk could a good effect on the quality of liquid boar semen of Landrace.
