PENGARUH KETEBALAN MULSA ORGANIK KI RINYUH (Chromolaena odorata) TERHADAP KANDUNGAN MINERAL RUMPUT MULATO (Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato)

The research has been carried out in the Field Laboratory field for animal husbandry study program, faculty of marine animal husbandry and fisheries Universitas Nusa Cendana Kupang, which lasted for three months. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of the thickness of organic mulch (Chromolaena odorata) on the content of calcium, potassium and phosphorus Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato. The research used a completely randomized design with the 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were M0 without (control), M1 mulch thickness 1 cm, M3 mulch thickness 3 cm and M5 mulch thickness 5 cm. The variables studied were the content of calcium, potassium, and phosphorus. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’s advanced test. The results of analysis of variance showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P<0,05) on the potassium mineral content, but had no significant effect (P>0,05) on the calcium and phosphorus mineral content. It was concluded that the use of mulch affected the potassium content, where a mulch thickness of 5 cm was the best.
