PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN SARI BUAH LONTAR (BORASSUS FLABELLIFER LINN.) DALAM PENGENCER AIR KELAPA MUDAKUNING TELUR TERHADAP KUALITAS SEMEN BABI LANDRACE

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan sari buah lontar(SBL) dalam pengencer air kelapa muda-kuning telur (AKM-KT) terhadap kualitas semen babi landrace. Materi yang digunakan adalah semen segar yang diperoleh dari satu ekor pejantan babi landrace yang berumur 2 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam, (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan Semen yang diencerkan dengan pengencer air kelapa muda- kuning telur 0% (P0), air kelapa muda- kuning telur + sari buah lontar 5% (P1), air kelapa muda- kuning telur + sari buah lontar 10% (P2), air kelapa muda-kuning telur + sari buah lontar 15% (P3), air kelapa muda- kuning telur + sari buah lontar 20% (P4). Semen yang telah diencerkan sesuai perlakuan disimpan pada suhu 18-20℃. Evaluasi semen pasca pengenceran dilakukan setiap 8 jam pengamatan yakni penilaian terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas dan daya tahan hidup spermatozoa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bawah perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) spermatozoa dengan nilai motilitas 49,00±5,47%, abnormalitas 5,47±6,17% dan daya tahan hidup 37,77±2,45 jam yang relatif tinggi pada P2, sementara viabilitas terbaik perlakuan P2 dengan nilai 53,67±3,06. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan 10% sari buah lontar dalam pengencer air kelapa muda-kuning telur mampu mempertahankan motilitas,viabilitas, abnormalitas dan daya tahan hidup spermatozoa babi landrace sampai 37,60 jam penyimpanan.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of palm fruit juice (SBL) in young coconut water-yolk diluent (AKM-KT) on the quality of landrace pig semen. The material used was fresh semen obtained from one landrace boars aged 2 years. This study used a complete randomized design (CRD) data analyzed by variance analysis, (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's multiple range test Semen diluted with young coconut water-yolk diluent 0% (T0), young coconut water-yolk + 5% palm fruit juice (T1), young coconut water-yolk + 10% palm fruit juice (T2), young coconut water-yolk + 15% palm fruit juice (T3), young coconut water-yolk + 20% palm fruit juice (T4). Semen that has been diluted according to the treatment is stored at 18-20 ℃. Evaluation of post-dilution semen was carried out every 8 hours of observation, namely the assessment of motility, viability, abnormality and survival of spermatozoa. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on spermatozoa with a motility value of 49.00 ± 5.47%, abnormality of 5.47 ± 6.17% and survival of 37.77 ± 2.45 hours which was relatively high in T2, while the best viability of T2 treatment with a value of 53.67 ± 3.06. It can be concluded that the addition of 10% palm fruit juice in young coconut water-egg yellow diluent is able to maintain motility, viability, abnormality and survival of landrace boars spermatozoa until 37.60 hours of storage.
