PENINGKATAN KUALITAS SPERMATOZOA BABI LANDRACE DALAM PENGENCER SPERMAX-KUNING TELUR YANG DISUPLEMENTASI SARI WORTEL (DAUCUS CAROTA L.)

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan sari wortel dalam pengencer spermax KT terhadap kualitas spermatozoa babi landrace. Materi yang digunakan adalah semen segar babi landrace berumur 2 sampai 3 tahun. Semen yang diencerkan dengan pengencer spermax KT (P0), spermax KT + sari wortel 0,5% (P1), spermax KT + sari wortel 1% (P2), spermax KT + sari wortel 1,5% (P3), spermax KT + sari wortel 2% (P4), spermax KT + sari wortel 2,5% (P5). Semen yang diencerkan sesuai perlakuan disimpan pada suhu 18-20ºC. Evaluasi semen pasca pengenceran dilakukan setiap 8 jam pengamatan meliputi motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas dan daya tahan hidup spermatozoa. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dan dianalisis dengan sidik ragam (Anova) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian yang diamati hingga jam ke-40 penyimpanan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kualitas spermatozoa, kecuali pada variabel abnormalitas spermatozoa (P>0,05). Kualitas spermatozoa tertinggi dihasilkan oleh perlakuan P2 dengan persentase motilitas 47,00%, viabilitas 55,75%, abnormalitas 4,12% dan daya tahan hidup 44,00 jam. Disimpulkan bahwa Penambahan sari wortel 1% ke dalam pengencer spermax KT lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas spermatozoa babi landrace.
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of carrot juice addition in EY spermax diluent on the quality of landrace pig spermatozoa. The material used was fresh semen of landrace pigs aged 2 to 3 years. Semen diluted with spermax EY diluent (T0), spermax EY + 0.5% carrot juice (T1), spermax EY + 1% carrot juice (T2), spermax EY + 1.5% carrot juice (T3), spermax EY + 2% carrot juice (T4), spermax EY + 2.5% carrot juice (T5). Semen diluted according to treatment was stored at 18-20ºC. Evaluation of post-dilution semen was carried out every 8 hours of observation including motility, viability, abnormality and longevity of spermatozoa. The study used a complete randomized design (CRD) and analyzed by variance analysis (Anova) and continued with Duncan's multiple range test. The results of the study observed until the 40th hour of storage showed that the treatment had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the quality of spermatozoa, except for the spermatozoa abnormality variable (P>0.05). The highest sperm quality was produced by P2 treatment with a motility percentage of 47.00%, viability of 55.75%, abnormality of 4.12% and longevity of 44.00 hours. It was concluded that the addition of 1% carrot juice into spermax EY diluent was more effective to improve the quality of landrace pig spermatozoa.
