ANALISIS KELAYAKAN DAN STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN USAHA TERNAK SAPI POTONG DI KECAMATAN KAKULUK MESAK KABUPATEN BELU

Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk menganalisis pendapatan yang diperoleh peternak di Kecamatan Kakuluk Mesak Kabupaten Belu. Menganalisis kelayakan usaha ternak sapi potong di Kecamatan Kakuluk Mesak melalui mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis strategi pengembangan usaha ternak sapi potong di Kecamatan Kakuluk Mesak, Kabupaten Belu. Metode kajian yang digunakan, yakni metode survei untuk mendapatkan data primer dan data sekunder. Data kajian didapat dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dukumentasi. Metode penentuan contoh melalui dua tahap, yakni tahap pertama, penentuan desa contoh dilakukan dengan metode proposive (ditunjuk secara sengaja) sebanyak 3 desa contoh dari 5 desa di Kecamatan Kakuluk Mesak, dengan dasar pertimbagan mempunyai populasi ternak sapi terbanyak. Tiga desa contoh tersebut adalah Desa Jenilu, Desa Kenebibi dan Desa Dualaus dengan populasi ternak sapi terbanyak. Tahap kedua, penentuan peternak contoh dilakukan dengan metode acak non proporsional sebanyak 10 responden dari tiga desa terpilih. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan sebesar Rp9.118.400 dan pendapatan tunai sebesar Rp17.884.800, adapun analisis kelayakan menunjukkan nilai B/C: 1,9 BEP Unit: 1 BEP Harga: Rp1.106.600.
The aim of this research is to analyze the income of livestock farmers in Kakuluk Mesak District, Belu Regency. This study also aims to assess the feasibility of beef cattle farming in Kakuluk Mesak by identifying and analyzing strategies for the development of beef cattle farming in the district. The research employs a survey method to collect both primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Sampling was conducted in two stages. The first stage involved selecting sample villages using a purposive method (intentionally chosen), with three out of five villages in Kakuluk Mesak District selected based on the highest cattle population. These three villages are Jenilu, Kenebibi, and Dualaus, which have the largest cattle populations. The second stage involved selecting sample farmers using a non-proportional random sampling method, with ten respondents chosen from the three selected villages. The findings indicate an income of IDR 9,118,400 and a cash income of IDR 17,884,800. Feasibility analysis shows a Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C) of 1.9, a Break-Even Point (BEP) in units of 1, and a Break-Even Price (BEP Price) of IDR 1,106,600.
