Abstrak

This study aims to evaluate the impact of rice bran, corn bran, and wheat bran inclusion in the feed on the internal organ weight of broiler chickens. The research was conducted at the Poultry Farm of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Marine Sciences at Nusa Cendana University, Kupang, for six weeks, from April 1 to May 13, 2024. A total of 135 CP 707 strain day-old chicks (DOC) were used in this experiment. The research design employed a factorial arrangement of a randomized complete block design. The first factor was the type of bran (D), consisting of three types: D1 (rice bran), D2 (corn bran), and D3 (wheat bran). The second factor was the inclusion level (P) with three levels: P1 (15%), P2 (30%), and P3 (45%). There were 9 treatment combinations, each replicated three times, with five chicks per replicate. The variables measured included crop weight, gizzard weight, small intestine length, and small intestine weight. Data were analyzed by calculating means and standard deviations, followed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’s test. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 17.0 for Windows and Microsoft Excel 2010. The statistical analysis revealed that the inclusion of rice bran, corn bran, and wheat bran in the feed at 15%, 30%, and 45% levels did not significantly affect (P > 0.05) crop weight, gizzard weight, small intestine length, or small intestine weight. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that feeding rice bran, corn bran, and wheat bran tends to improve the internal organs of broiler chickens.
