PERANCANGAN WEBTOON RASA BORNEO KALIMANTAN TENGAH SEBAGAI BENTUK AWARENESS

Abstrak

Perancangan webtoon Rasa Borneo: Kalimantan Tengah merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan awareness masyarakat terhadap kekayaan budaya dan kuliner tradisional Kalimantan Tengah melalui media komik digital. Media webtoon dipilih karena memiliki karakter visual yang menarik, narasi yang komunikatif, serta aksesibilitas yang tinggi pada platform daring, sehingga berpotensi menjangkau kalangan remaja hingga dewasa muda sebagai target audiens utama. Dalam proses perancangan, digunakan pendekatan studi pustaka, observasi, analisis 5W1H, pengembangan konsep cerita, penyusunan storyboard, ilustrasi digital, serta strategi publikasi pada media daring. Pendekatan tersebut diterapkan untuk menghasilkan karya yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai media informasi dan edukasi mengenai identitas lokal Kalimantan Tengah. Melalui pengemasan cerita yang memadukan unsur budaya dan kuliner, webtoon ini diharapkan mampu menumbuhkan minat, pemahaman, dan apresiasi masyarakat terhadap kekayaan tradisi daerah. Dengan demikian, hasil perancangan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif media promosi budaya yang efektif, relevan, dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi digital.

The design of the webtoon Rasa Borneo: Central Kalimantan is an effort to increase public awareness of the cultural richness and traditional culinary heritage of Central Kalimantan through digital comic media. Webtoon was chosen because it has appealing visual characteristics, communicative narrative, and high accessibility on online platforms, making it potentially able to reach teenagers and young adults as the main target audience. In the design process, a literature review, observation, 5W1H analysis, story concept development, storyboard preparation, digital illustration, and online publication strategy were used. This approach was applied to produce a work that functions not only as entertainment media, but also as an informational and educational medium about the local identity of Central Kalimantan. Through a story presentation that combines cultural and culinary elements, this webtoon is expected to foster public interest, understanding, and appreciation of the region’s traditional heritage. Thus, the final design is expected to become one of the effective, relevant, and adaptive alternatives for cultural promotion in response to the development of digital technology.
