BATAK INSPIRED NAIL ART: MENGEMBANGKAN KREASI NAIL ART MOTIF GORGA SEBAGAI PELUANG USAHA SENI KONTEMPORER

Abstrak

Pengembangan Batak Inspired Nail Art merupakan inovasi seni kontemporer yang mengangkat kekayaan motif tradisional Batak, seperti gorga, ulos, dan simbol adat, ke dalam media kecantikan modern berupa nail art. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses adaptasi motif budaya Batak pada desain kuku, serta menganalisis peluang dan tantangan usaha di industri kreatif. Metode yang digunakan meliputi riset visual terhadap motif Batak, penyederhanaan desain agar sesuai dengan media kuku, serta aplikasi teknik nail art seperti lukis tangan, stamping, dan digital printing. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa Batak Inspired Nail Art tidak hanya memiliki nilai estetika dan filosofi budaya yang kuat, tetapi juga potensi ekonomi yang besar sebagai produk eksklusif di pasar kecantikan. Namun, tantangan utama meliputi perlunya keterampilan teknis tinggi, edukasi konsumen mengenai makna motif, serta menjaga otentisitas budaya dalam pengembangan produk. Dengan strategi pemasaran digital dan kolaborasi dengan komunitas lokal, Batak Inspired Nail Art berpotensi menjadi ikon baru dalam industri seni kontemporer sekaligus sarana pelestarian budaya Batak.

The development of Batak Inspired Nail Art is a contemporary art innovation that elevates the richness of traditional Batak motifs, such as gorga, ulos, and traditional symbols, into modern beauty media in the form of nail art. This study aims to examine the process of adapting Batak cultural motifs to nail designs, as well as analyzing business opportunities and challenges in the creative industry. The methods used include visual research on Batak motifs, simplifying designs to suit nail media, and applying nail art techniques such as hand painting, stamping, and digital printing. The results show that Batak Inspired Nail Art not only has strong aesthetic and cultural philosophical values, but also great economic potential as an exclusive product in the beauty market. However, the main challenges include the need for high technical skills, consumer education about the meaning of motifs, and maintaining cultural authenticity in product development. With a digital marketing strategy and collaboration with local communities, Batak Inspired Nail Art has the potential to become a new icon in the contemporary art industry as well as a means of preserving Batak culture.
